Born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Anna Mae and Claude M. Burnett, Patsy lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest.  She died at the age of 83 of natural causes. Patsy lost her beloved husband and High School buddy, Ben, in 2017. Patsy is survived by her sister, Judy Pence, and her stepson Alan Carter.  Though she never had children of her own, she spent most of her life caring for others. She was a Sunday School teacher while still in her teens, later a member of Seattle's "U District" Open Door Clinic's "flying squad". She volunteered in the first aid tent at Seattle area music festivals, was a medical social worker at Harbor View Hospital and the University of Washington Hospital Seizure Clinic, and later, in private practice with colleagues and on her own in Seattle and Anacortes.

Patsy learned from everyone she knew and everywhere she went.  She never hesitated to make a new friend or embrace a new experience, teaching English to Vietnamese children and Hungarian entrepreneurs, and as a consultant for indigenous tribes in Alaska. She collected artwork and family stories, too, validating native cultures as well as her own.

Patsy had a curious mind and an open heart.  She led a long, full life, and she will be deeply missed
