Robert George (Pete) Petersen, 89, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021. He lived life to the fullest as long as he was able. Pete was born on March 2, 1932 in Oakland, CA; the son of George and Hazel (Neikirk) Petersen.

He served in the Navy for 4 years as a Leave and Liberty Yeoman. He got his nick name in the service where they shortened Petersen to "Pete" and it stuck forever.

Pete was a successful State Farm Agent in Milpitas, CA; where he also was very involved in the Rotary & Elks Clubs and numerous other town events.  Even as a state farm agent, if he knew he could not save his client money, he would refer them to a company that could.  Pete was the most giving man you'll ever meet.

When he retired to Oxbow Marina in Isleton CA., he entertained family and friends with his open bar, overlooking the Georgiana Slough with a Delta Breeze.  He also loved to play games such  as Wii bowling which he was very good at and cards.  Pete loved to laugh and make people smile. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, but most of all entertaining family and friends.  In late 2017 he decided to move to Washington State, to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his younger sister Audrey Addiego; daughter, Linda Berlin (spouse Mike Darling); grandchildren: Daniel and Kendra Berlin; son, Kevin (Ann) Petersen, grandchildren: Vincent, Samantha & Hannah Petersen and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his two wives: Phyllis, the mother of his children and Sharon.

A Celebration of his life will be held in California at a later date and will be announced at Pete's Website at Evans.
