Phyllis Elaine
Reineck
Sep 22, 1957 — Jun 28, 2022
Anacortes
Phyllis Elaine Reineck, 64, of Anacortes, passed peacefully at Island Hospital on June 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Youngest of five daughters, Phyllis was born to John T and Frances M. (Duggan) Baehr in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Married and devoted to David Reineck of Camden, New Jersey, Phyllis nursed him in his later years until his passing in 2013 of Emphysema. She shared many pets with him but the couple had no children.
Phyllis worked as Data Manager for Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 34 years; handling all hardware and software for their computers and coordinating all deliveries to schools, day care centers, summer camps and emergency food cupboards.
She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2015 but never felt quite at home. Phyllis missed her home on six acres in New Jersey, on the fringes of the Pine Barrens. She was an avid nature lover and bird watcher and had a flock of about 30 Canadian Geese she fed every afternoon on the creek that ran through her property.
Phyllis loved history, especially American and British, read profusely and was a walking encyclopedia of rock music from almost any era. She really enjoyed period movies and series such as Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Downtown Abbey. She loved to travel, especially to Lake George, NY and the Civil War Battlefields when her husband was alive.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, her husband and sisters: Janet A Glennon, Frances M. Volkel, Judith Baehr. She is survived by her sister, Barbara F Baehr; brothers-in-law Michael T and Joseph Glennon and Darryl and Jeffery Reineck; nieces: Frances A Glennon and her husband Bob Dhaliwal, Devon Volkel and Danielle Reineck; nephews: Alex, Steven and Jason Reineck; great nephews: Jesse Dhaliwal and his partner Haley Moon, Devraj and Ashleigh Dhaliwal and Gauge Traw. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America . Private services will be held in her honor by her family.
