Richard Arvid Anderson (Rick), 74, passed away at his home on Guemes  Island, WA on February 10th, 2024, after a long battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

He was born on July 24th, 1949, to Arvid and Jane Anderson in Los Angeles, CA. Rick met his soul mate, Carolyn Turner-Anderson, in Santa Rosa, CA in 1980. They got married in 1991.

On April 22nd, 1995, they adopted 3 children, Jacqueline as a newborn,   Christopher at age 8, and James at age 12. Family was very important to Rick. When he was not working as an optometric physician he loved to spend time with his family.

He spent his time working as an optometrist at his own offices in  California, until he, Carolyn and Jacqueline moved to Guemes Island, WA in 2007 and then worked for Group Health as a locum optometric physician.

After Rick retired he loved going out on his boat on what he called "leisure cruises ", around the San Juan Islands. He loved Guemes Island.

Rick was loved by all that met him. He was a loving, caring, friend,  husband, and father.
