Robert "T"
Conway Thomas
Jan 28, 1947 — Mar 9, 2021
Anacortes
On March 9th, suddenly and unexpectedly, T passed away from this earthly plane immediately followed by a blazing and glorious Skagit Valley sunset.
T was a man of few words - unless you got him talking about woodworking, politics or books. And what he had to say was almost always profound. He was the consummate carpenter. After a year spent in Japan studying Japanese Architecture his carpentry reflected many aspects of Japanese aesthetics in the myriad of his manifestations. His most magnificent of his creations is his home on Bow Hill.
Heartbroken but blessed to have had such an amazing man in their lives are; his wife, Vicky, son of T's heart Tod, and Tod's partner Rally as well as his two, adoring granddaughters: Phoenix and Llyra. He leaves behind a sister, Julie.
Thanks to all the Starbucks' baristas who brought such joy into T's life. Kudos to Nordic Tug for giving him a place to showcase his talents and skills. Thanks to Mark and Nancy for their assistance during this transition along with all the heartfelt love and support.
T was instrumental in the resurrection of the historic Lincoln Theatre utilizing his carpentry skills and as the first Volunteer Coordinator. If you feel compelled please give them a donation in T's name.
We will be having a Celebration of T's life on his beloved Bow Hill and scattering his ashes on August 7th. We would be honored if you could join us. Vicky will post a reminder on Facebook.
And lastly, "I mean, I really do think love is the best thing in the world, except cough drops. But I also have to say, for the umpty-umpth time, that life isn't fair. It is just fairer than death, that's all." From the Princess Bride.
