Reverend Robert Irvine Vance Junior departed at 88 years of age on Friday, January 28th, 2022. Robert attended Maine Central Institute where he graduated valedictorian and was a silver medalist in state on the cross-country team. He graduated from Eastern Baptist College in Pennsylvania and then served as an Airman First Class in The United States Air Force. Bob continued his studies at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary to become an ordained minister. He was a missionary in Mexico and Peru with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Bob worked in sales for Oxford University Press and Thomas Nelson Publishers and taught drug and alcohol prevention through non-profit organization, HASTE. Robert ministered to several churches and communities across the country throughout his lifetime. He was involved in Trail Life ministries for boys and American Heritage Girls clubs, a faith-based alternative to the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. He organized an Archery Club for the local youth in Ferndale, Washington. He had a passion for serving the community through his ministry. Robert is survived by his wife, Sang-Ae and their daughter Jennifer; his two children Jeff and Cherie; his grandchildren Brandon, Morghan, and Jason; his great grandson, Eli; and his sister Barbara.
