Rosalie Pirak-Gonzales died at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Charles Gonzales; sons: Brian Ames, Bret Ames, Michael Newbaker; daughters: Diana Jordan-New (Jon New ), Darla (Phillip Simpson ), Darci (Phil Caniff ); stepsons: Michael (Colleen) Gonzales, Phillip (Susan) Gonzales; 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; siblings: John (Linn) Pirak, Joseph (Sandy) Pirak and sister Marie (Gary Padovan ) and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Sylvia Pirak, an infant sister Helen Frances (Suzy) Pirak and her grandson Michael Andrew Jordan.

Rosalie held a variety of professions throughout her life most notably managing four movie theaters in the 70s: the Lyric, Lincoln and Lido theaters in Mount Vernon and the old Circus Drive-In Anacortes. She later enjoyed working at the Anacortes American and at Buer's Floral before starting her own business The Mailbox in 1988 which she retired from in 2011 and sold to her daughter, Darla Simpson.

Rosalie loved music, flowers, gardening, baking and decorating. She also loved to gift wrap for people and made the most beautiful ribbon bows. In her later years she was most at peace sitting on her deck with her husband Chuck watching the hummingbirds.

Rosalie was a most caring and giving person and donated whenever she could to multiple charities or people in need. Although she considered herself to be shy once she met and was comfortable with someone, she could talk up a blue streak.

Although we wished to keep her with us forever, we take comfort in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJV:

"We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from
the body and to be present with the Lord."
