Sadako Nishikawa of Anacortes, Washington, passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 92. Sadako was born on September 27, 1930 - after which she lived a most full life. In 1971, she moved from her home city of Tokyo, Japan to Los Angeles, California, where she would marry Yoshi Nishikawa, her husband of 41 years.

Sadako did not shy away from adventure. She explored the Grand Canyon on horseback, would zip through deep mounds of snow on the back of a snowmobile, and took pleasure in traveling the world. She and Yoshi moved to Anacortes in the early '90s, and quickly grew to love the charming town and the people in it.

Sadako was passionate about cooking and displayed her talents at dinner parties she hosted with Yoshi. She made excellent dishes in all different types of cuisine, not just Japanese. Although her curry and sukiyaki dishes were delicious and always enjoyed by the family. She had a deep affection for her 2 dogs, Hopsing, a white Pekingese and Poco, an energetic Yorkshire terrier, who she took on many trips and was often seen in her arms.

Sadako was predeceased by husband, Yoshi, in 2013. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Michelle Nishikawa, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband, and son. Sadako will be missed by all that knew her. To share memories of Sadako sign the online guestbook at www.evanschapel.com/obituary/sadako-nishikawa.
