As a follower of Christ, Sandy Moffitt accepted death with a smile. After a long and brave battle, she succumbed to pancreatic cancer on September 1, 2021.

Her story began in Pontiac, Michigan where she was born to Robert and Lillian Saunders on November 28, 1947. Their family soon grew, and Sandy had four younger siblings: Laurie, Sheri, Lisa and Robert. In the early 1960's, she started attending Pontiac Northern High School. During this time, the "girl next door" look became popular and Sandy was inspired to get her beautician license. With determination and a "get 'er done" attitude, she earned her license before she graduated from high school in 1965.

The highlight of her high school years was meeting her soon-to-be husband, Will Moffitt. They were married in November of 1966 in Pontiac. After four years in the Air Force, they made the move to Will's hometown of Sedro Wooley. It wasn't too long before they moved again, this time to Anacortes where they raised their three children: Will Jr., Wayne, and Gayle.

Sandy found joy in time spent on the water in her sailboat, the "Toils Token". She also loved her walks with Will, and together they often explored the Anacortes Forest Lands with their dog, Corvo. Her smile was contagious, and she wore her heart on her sleeve. Whether she was planning events with her close circle of friends or simply sharing small talk with customers at the bank, she left footprints on the hearts of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to meet her.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lillian; daughter Gayle [Charlie Carosella]. She leaves behind her husband Will; siblings Laurie, Sheri, Lisa, and Robert; sons Will Jr. [Brigette] and Wayne; grandchildren Mick Spicer of Michigan, Orin and Dani Moffitt of wherever the wind takes them or the anchor falls, Ketziah and Nathan Ball of Burlington; great-grandchildren Theodore Moffitt and Zoey Ball.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, 1:00PM, September 17 ^th at Anacortes Christian Church, followed by a reception. A private ceremony will be held at Fernhill Cemetery where Sandy will be laid to rest.
