Sharon Ivanette Higgins, 79, a long-time resident of Anacortes, passed away on July 27, 2021.  She was born on September 14, 1941, the daughter of Robert and Lorayne (Unger) Boehm in Bay Shore, New York.

Sharon graduated from the South Babylon High School on Long Island, NY.  Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Frank Patrick Higgins and the loving couple tied the knot on August 3, 1963, in Centereach, New York. Five children were born to Frank and Sharon, two sons and three daughters.  All five children's names begin with the letter, K.  Sharon and Frank experienced living in many cities throughout the United States.  Before retiring to Anacortes in 1991, the family lived in  Port Jefferson, NY, Panama City, FL, New Orleans, LA, and Dallas, TX.  Sharon started her career in administration in the Aerospace industry, and primarily worked for Republic Aviation, an aircraft manufacturer based in Farmingdale, New York on Long Island and then devoted the rest of her life to being a loving mother and grandmother.

Sharon's attention to detail and passion for helping got her very active in her local HOA in the Skyline neighborhood of Anacortes.  Many will remember her for the coordination of the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Children's Christmas Party, and the annual HOA Picnic Pork Roast and Salmon Bake.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by Frank, her husband of 57 years; children: Kelly (Michael Klinglesmith), Kasey, and Kerry (James Oriol), Kyle (Dona), Kollin (Amy); grandchildren: Garrett, Bailey, Sean, Aubrey, Cooper and Fiona; and her siblings: Kenneth (Eileen) and Bobbie Heberle.
