Steven Alan Cocherl passed away suddenly on October 26, 2020 in Everett, WA.  He was born September 25, 1949 in Seattle Washington to Charles Cocherl and Virginia (Murray) Cocherl. He was the second of six children and the only BOY!

Steve grew up in West Seattle surrounded by a large family of siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins and attended West Seattle High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1976 being stationed at Whidbey Island Naval station while not deployed. After his Honorable discharge, Steve decided to remain in Whidbey Island where he had met and married his wife Trudi Williams in 1975.  Steve and Trudi had four children: Danielle in '75, Nicole in '78, Donald in '81 and C.J. in '83, before divorcing in 1993.

Steve continued to work at the Whidbey Island Naval Base spending several years as a high voltage electrician before becoming a base firefighter from 1986 until his retirement in 2006.

Steve was a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks, fast cars (both watching and driving), Kentucky Fried Chicken and of course a little Crown Royal. Spoiling his grandkids and spending his time with family was a top priority for him.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; Chuck and Ginny and sisters Christine (Ken) Shott and Sharon (Curt) VanHoutte. He is survived by his children; Danielle Cocherl, Nicole (Shane) Westergard, Donald (Tayler) Cocherl, Clifford/CJ Cocherl and honorary daughter Melissa (Tighe) Smith. His loving grandkids: Irelyn and Anisyn and joining the family in March 2021 will be Gerritt Steven William Cocherl to proudly carry on the family name.

Also survived by his remaining sisters: Donna (Bruce) Lindseth, Holly Corey and Kellie (Tony) Vigil.
