Virginia Elaine (Boynton) Perkins was born October 7, 1932 in the home that her parents, Stanley K Boynton and Sarah (Reed) Boynton, built in 1928, and was raised there with her sister Vivian (Boynton) Dibble, who preceded her in death. She lived her last three years at Lighthouse Memory Care in Anacortes battling Alzheimer's Disease with her granddaughter, Amanda, as her nurse. She passed peacefully with her husband by her side on November 22, 2021.  Patriotism ran in her blood of Native American heritages: the Alaskan Tlingit and Seattle Duwamish Tribes.

Virginia spent her entire life in the small town of Anacortes, attending Whitney Grade School, Colombian Jr High School and Anacortes High School. Virginia started dating her husband, Reese Perkins, in the 8th grade. They continued to date and while in high school they became King and Queen of their Senior Ball in 1950. Reese and Virginia were married August 15, 1951, when Reese was home on leave from the Navy. Reese and Virginia celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August 2021 at Causland Park in Anacortes, where they often took long walks when they were young teenagers. They had three sons together; Steven Reese Perkins (Joyce) was born August 19, 1952, David Bruce Perkins (Judy) born on August 20, 1953 and Rodney Charles Perkins (Lisa) born on June 13, 1961.

Virginia, also known as Grandma Bubbles due to her ever bearing gum in her purse for the children, enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren; Phillip Steven Perkins (Arica), Andrew Mareese Perkins, Brenda Annella Perkins (Geovanni) and Amanda Elaine (Perkins) Hering (Brandon). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren; Darius, Megan and Sawyer, who also enjoyed her plethora of gum in her purse. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her sister-in-law Winnie (Perkins) Petersen and many nieces and nephews. For over 50 years, her family would visit Skagit Speedway watching sprint cars that they owned and enjoyed together. Virginia also enjoyed painting, agate hunting and the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Northwest. Virginia will be missed tremendously by many that she has touched over her lifetime.

A memorial will be held on Friday, December 10 ^th , 11am, at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes with a reception to follow. The family will have a private committal and Virginia will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes.
