Wayne Arvin Lambert passed away on March 29, 2023, at Carl T. Hayden VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Wayne was born on April 8, 1935, in Anacortes, WA to Benjamin and Zenobia (Meigs) Lambert.

He grew up in Anacortes and as a young child, he was very adept at finding ways to earn money. Wayne was 12 years old and the youngest person in the State of Washington to have a business license for his bicycle repair shop called Southside Bicycle Repair. Another endeavor was raising white New Zealand rabbits which were sold for family dinners and the hides tanned and sold to Sears. At carnivals held in the backyard, his pets were the animals, and his toys were prizes. He helped at the circus when it came to town so he could get in free. During high school Wayne worked for a car dealership, washing and servicing customer cars and sometimes managing the shop.

He graduated from Anacortes High School in 1953. During his senior year, he enlisted in the Bellingham Naval Reserves of the 13th Naval District, serving for three years. He worked as a carpenter, building the Shell Refinery in Anacortes and held numerous other jobs before enlisting in the Army November 17, 1955. Basic training was done at Ft. Bliss, TX. After basic training, he transferred to Waldorf, Maryland as a radar electronic technician at a guided missile site. He was discharged May 16, 1959, and transferred to the Army Reserve.

Wayne met Annette Bednarz while he was stationed in Washington, D.C. area. After his discharge, he returned to Anacortes, WA where they were married in 1959 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. In 1961 they moved back to Washington, D.C. where he became employed by Xerox to repair printing machines and eventually computers. One of his territories was the Pentagon and while there he received a Letter of Commendation from the Department of the Army for his splendid service given before transferring to the Seattle area to work.

While performing his duties, he travelled to Fairbanks, Alaska to clean-up and repair equipment damaged during the disastrous earthquake and flood of August 1967. One of his greatest accomplishments and achievements was being assigned to NSA Seattle's All-Service Transition Program at Sand Point. He taught servicemen how to maintain Xerox equipment with many of them being hired by Xerox upon their discharge from service. He retired from Xerox after 33 years of service.

After retirement they spent summers in Clinton, WA on Whidbey Island and wintered in Mesa, AZ. His interests there was showing and attending classic car events. He owned many cars and travelled many miles to buy some of them. His cars ranged from a DeLorean to his favorite 1968 Matador Red Camaro, and they were always driveable. They enjoyed having family and friends stay with them and showing them the Arizona sights.

He was taken "home" to Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes and buried with military honors. He is survived by his wife Annette, children: Michael Lambert, and Christina (Greg Schultz); granddaughters: Merrisa and Aron Seibold and Lena Shepherd (and fiancé, Hunter Waldron), and many nieces and nephews.
