Wendi grew up in southern California with her mother Phyllis, father Harry, and brothers Kevin and Gary, and her dog Pepper.  She received her degree in psychology from UC Irvine and worked for Mazda Research and Development.

One day in June 1987, when she was out with her friends, a young man who was in the Coast Guard asked her to dance.  She shot him down with some lame excuse but took pity on him and agreed to go out on a date with him.  Three years later they were married, and she followed the love of her life to State College, Pennsylvania in 1990 for Gary to finish college at Penn State.  In 1993, they moved to Washington State where she and Gary spent their free time camping and exploring Washington. Wendi and Gary lived in Duvall, WA for 32 years becoming integral members of the community.

Her greatest joy in life was raising their son, Joshua.  Watching him grow, cheering him on for his sports games, especially for his little league team that Gary coached, bringing him to various math competitions and outdoor camps, celebrating him graduating high school and receiving his engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Wendi was overjoyed that Joshua met, fell in love with and is marrying My-Lan Le.

Wendi put her heart and soul into everything she did in life; as a loving wife, mother, sister, and devoted friend. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and appreciated the simple joys that life has to offer. She was resilient in times of hardship, dealing with all her difficult medical struggles, and showed incredible warmth and joy in her smile and laughter that she shared with loved ones.

Wendi loved visiting national parks, going to places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and the Black Hills for her honeymoon, going for walks to watch the sunsets whether it was along 3rd Ave in Duvall or more recently at West Beach in Anacortes, and looking for bunny rabbits.

She adored her caring husband. Those who knew her well could see the comfort and love she felt around him.

While her homemade spaghetti was famous, she enjoyed eating meals out with family, or bringing home an assortment of Chinese foods to share with family and friends around the table.

Wendi enjoyed spending time with her friends, celebrating birthdays, holidays, or just talking about life's joys and struggles. Her friends were a very important part of her life.

Wendi and Gary spent the last several years designing and building their dream house near Deception Pass in Anacortes and moved into their new home last year in March.  They spent the last year enjoying morning coffee and her chai tea lattes next to the fireplace, watching countless episodes of Beat Bobby Flay and NCIS, and watching sunset together.  Wendi will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
