Bill was born in Seattle, Washington on November 6, l940 to Frances (Russell) and Carl Myers. Along with Bill's older brother Carl, the family moved to New Jersey and then to Florida. After graduating high school in Tampa, Bill served two years in the Army. While enlisted he earned his private pilot license and later in life many FAA ratings: instructor, instrument, and multi-engine.

After receiving a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Florida, Bill moved to Washington State to work for Boeing where he met his wife Rosalie (Ullman). He flew them in a Cessna to their honeymoon destinations and, later, family vacations.

During his 35-year career at Boeing, Bill worked as a structural engineer, a field service engineer, and a manager in cities across the US and Europe, supporting at one time or another, all of Boeing's airplane programs during those years.

To be close to his ailing parents Bill joined the Field Service division so he could be assigned to Eastern Airlines in Miami. Then the family moved to Rome for Bill's first overseas field service assignment with AIitalia, where he came to love Italian cuisine. Next, he managed the Boeing offices in Amsterdam for KLM until 1980. When the boys were 6 and 7 the family moved back to Bellevue, Washington, for the rest of their school years.

Tragically, cancer took his oldest son, Billy, in 1986, at age 13.

In 1995 Bill and Rosalie moved abroad again so Bill could serve as the Field Service Representative for Aeroflot in Moscow. Then in 1997 to British Airways in London as their Field Service Manager. Both assignments gave the couple the opportunity to travel extensively. Bill particularly loved traveling by rail in Switzerland. Fortunately Bob, their youngest son, was able to visit both London and Moscow and other European countries.

In 2000, Bill and Rosalie retired, returning to Washington State to be near family. They settled in Anacortes, WA, where Bill focused on his hobbies and volunteer service. He advocated passionately in support of rail, continued to travel extensively (especially by train), square danced regularly with multiple groups, and became active with Christ Episcopal Church. He enjoyed picking out train-themed gifts for his grandchildren who referred to him as "Grandpa Choo Choo" when they were small.

As his health declined, he enjoyed life at home with Rosalie, walks, good cooking, and visits from family.

William "Bill" Myers was 82, on hospice, when he died at home on May 31, 2023. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Carl; siblings-in-law: Janice, Ron & John Ullman. He is survived by his wife Rosalie (Ullman) Myers, his son Bob (Jennie), grandchildren Liam and Nora; Nieces: Carolyn (Luke), Martha (Mark); grand niece: Brooks; sister-in-law: Ada (Carl's wife) and brothers-in-law: Roger (Robin), and Jim (Barbara) Ullman and many extended family members.
