Angelo Tedizino Ferrario, 83, of Anacortes, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2005 after a courageous battle with heart disease. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, he passed away peacefully, while surrounded by his family, at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
Angelo was born in Clinton, Illinois to John and Regina Ferrario. His family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he lived until he joined the US Navy at the age of eighteen. He served our country during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Angelo married Lucille Stern on Jan. 31, 1948. After living in California for six years, they moved their family to Anacortes, where they have resided since 1958. An employee of the Texaco Company, he retired after thirty years.
He loved the Church, having been a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and serving as usher there for many years. He had a great passion for art. His artwork includes sketches and drawings, oil paintings, stained glass and wood carving. He enjoyed reading, hiking, music, old Western movies and spending time with his family, who were highly entertained with his Navy stories. Loved and respected for his integrity and kindness, he was cherished by all for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Angelo will be greatly missed by Lucille, his wife of 56 years, of Anacortes; his children: John (& Linda) Ferrario of Anacortes, Gene (& Donna) Ferrario of Anacortes, Deborah (& Dan) Hatton of Blaine, Diane Green of Kirkland and Joe Ferrario of Oak Harbor, along with his 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Rosary and viewing be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2005. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 with viewing available prior to Mass. Both services will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4001 St. Mary Drive, Anacortes. Concluding services and interment will be held at Fernhill Cemetery, 7427 State Route 20, Anacortes.
