Dorothy Lee Thomson, of Anacortes, passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 96. Dorothy was born on July 15, 1926, to Harry and Carrie (Szymanski) Kolb of Bellingham, WA. She attended Bellingham schools, graduating from Bellingham High School in 1944.

Dorothy married Delbert (Bert) Thomson of Anacortes on August 8, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Bellingham. They made their home in Anacortes, where they raised 4 children - Mark, Marcia, Keith, and Scott. Dorothy was a homemaker, and she worked at Sunland Dairy, local canneries, and was Secretary to the Assessor's Office. Dorothy also volunteered at Island Hospital for 20 years.

Bert and Dorothy were long time members of Pilgrim Congregational Church and Summit Park Bible Church. Later in life Dorothy attended United Methodist Church. They were members of the International Order of Foresters, enjoyed camping with the AnaSams (Good Sam Club), and square danced with the Fidalgo Fog Cutters. They spent time traveling in their RV, with trips to Branson, MO, Fairbanks, AK, and snowbird trips to the sun. Dorothy loved spending time with family, with camping and picnicking at Day Creek a favorite place. She enjoyed hosting holiday get-togethers with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing card games with friends, sewing, knitting & crocheting, and everyone loved her baked bread! She was financially savvy and planned ahead, saving for her grandchildren's education. All of her children and grandchildren knew they were loved.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert (2006), siblings Jean (Eugene) Hershey, Irene (Pete) Sebastian, and Harold (Allene) Kolb, as well as Bert's siblings: Chet (Eva) Thomson, Elsie (Dave) Anderson, Jay Thomson, Chuck (Olive) Thomson, Norm (Mary) Thomson, and Vaughn (Judy) Thomson.

She is survived by children Mark Thomson of Marysville, Marcia (Harley) Graber of Sedro-Woolley, Keith (Kathy) Thomson of Sedro-Woolley, and Scott (Diane) Thomson of Anacortes; 10 grandchildren and spouses: Joel (Tamara) Thomson, Jared (Jennifer) Thomson, Elisabeth Thomson, Daniel Graber, Joseph (Sejal) Graber, Stacie (Paul) Oakes, Tiffany (James) Simon, Tracey (Evan) Lemley, Heather (Jeremy Caplan) Thomson, and Luke (Christina) Thomson, 18 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
