Inez
Steltz
Mar 5, 1940 — Mar 21, 2022
Inez Steltz of Marysville, WA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 21, 2022. In her 82 years, she lived her life to the fullest and is dearly missed by all those who she took under her wing.
Some of the best memories were made around Inez's dining room table, where delicious meals and quality time spent together were never in short supply. She was a tireless and generous host, so no one would ever leave her home hungry. Her door was always open and her pantry was always fully stocked. She often had so much food prepared to give away that certain items would get precariously close to expiration dates, or, to the amusement of her guests, well past them.
She had a true "green thumb" and could grow anything from the ground up, even trees from leftover avocado pits. She eagerly preserved her bounty by canning it or making huge containers of sauerkraut. Her natural talent with plants was apparent in her flower garden as well. Breathtaking dahlias we're a garden staple that she shared with many.
Inez could spot a four-leafed clover from a mile away and was well known for being exceptionally lucky. A few of her favorite games were pinochle, bunco, and bingo, and the odds seemed to always be in her favor.
Another one of her great loves was going on fishing and camping trips with family all around the Pacific Northwest. Many adventures were had around Lake Shannon and Deer Creek, spending her time next to the water waiting for a fish to bite. This beautiful corner of the world inspired her to pick up painting and she created some amazing works of art enjoyed by her family. Even with her many talents, the thing she will be most remembered for is her warm and generous heart.
Inez was one of five children born to Bert and Donnie (Rice) Tilson. Inez went on to have four children of her own: Ron Delbrouck, Bob (Kim) Delbrouck, Jerry Delbrouck, and Patti (Kevin) Buhr. Her large extended family including but not limited to her children, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry on her memory in their hearts. "Grams the Great" will never be forgotten, and she'll always come to mind when an Alan Jackson song plays on the radio.
