Jim passed away during the early hours of June 7, 2022. He was born in Hazelton, PA to Veronica and Stanley Kersikofski. His father was killed in a mining accident when Jim was a baby, leaving his mom a single parent to raise him and his sister Beverly. He joined the Navy out of high school and served on the USS Midway and the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. After discharge from the Navy, Jim lived in southern California for several years and earned his BA degree in Psychology from Cal State, Fullerton.

Jim moved to Seattle in 1977, where he met his future wife, Suzanne Marble. They married in 1979, and bought a home in Kirkland, WA, where they lived for twenty-six years. Jim lovingly renovated the home, and he and Suzanne planted and maintained a beautiful yard. Jim was an installer in the Custom Decorating Department at J.C. Penney. He retired in 2006. After retirement he and Suzanne moved to La Conner, WA.

Jim was handsome, smart, talented, wise, and funny. He was the ultimate recycler and was always non-judgmental of others. He enjoyed darkroom photography and cross-country skiing in his younger years. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking (building several pieces of furniture for his home), gardening, traveling and camping in the RV, flying his stunt kite, singing and listening to all kinds of music, playing the harmonica, salmon fishing with his neighbor, Gary, walking the dogs every day with Suzanne and puttering in his shop. He loved the ocean which he called his healing place.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne, sisters and brothers-in-law: Janette (Marty Tuttle), Becky (Jeff Earl), Lisa (Spence Killian), nine nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews on Suzanne's side of the family, and niece Michele Shinko. He was pre-deceased by his parents and parents-in-law Leonard and LaWana Marble, sister and brother-in-law Beverly & Mike Shinko, nephews: Jeff Shinko and Preston Killian.

The family wishes to thank Hospice and the caregivers at Birchview Memory Care for taking care of Jim during his last few days. His wife, Suzanne took care of him at home for as long as possible. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. He will be deeply missed.
