JoAnn Sybrandt Johnston-Ramsey, fondly known as Sy to her friends, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 29 ^th at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was born on November 11, 1946 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Horace & Mary (Schafer) Johnston.

JoAnn was a woman of diverse interests.  She studied at Totem Heritage College in Ketchikan, AK and was widely known for her beautiful art. JoAnn also careered as Flight Attendant before becoming a member of the US SKI Team when she participated in the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. She later became a professional SKI Instructor.  Her favorite pastimes included her passion for artistry, skiing, fishing, hiking and running.  JoAnn was a loving, kind soul and a friend to all she knew.  JoAnn met the love of her life Jerry Stuart Ramsey of Anacortes, WA in Leavenworth in 2002 and they married on April 25, 2004. She was a member of the LDS Church, Mt. Erie Ward.

JoAnn was diagnosed with Parkinson in 1994 and struggled with it till the end.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and survived by her sister: Kathleen Johnston; her husband Jerry; stepsons: Jason, Jared, Jonathan and Michael; and six grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.  Private family services will be held for JoAnn.
