Lois Annabelle Ricks, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023, in Anacortes, WA. Born on April 19, 1924, in Aberdeen, WA to Walter and Elva Otterstein, Lois lived a full and accomplished life.

Her early years were spent in Aberdeen, WA, where she graduated from high school and developed her passion for woodworking. After WWII, Lois met the love of her life, Clarence George Ricks, who had moved to Aberdeen after his honorable discharge from the US Army.  They married on November 12, 1946, in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. George and Lois moved to Montesano, WA where they bought their first home. Together, they raised two wonderful children: Patricia Van Limburgh and James Ricks, who blessed them with four cherished grandchildren, Daniel Frymire (Rachel Williams), Christi Bryant, Luie Dayton, and Mona (Justin Daffan). Lois was also fortunate enough to become a great-grandmother to nine beautiful great-grandchildren.

The Ricks Family moved from Montesano to Friday Harbor, finally settling in Anacortes for their retirement years.

As a talented woodworker and craftsman, Lois could fix, repair, or create most any woodworking project presented to her. From carving little people for the train table to building over 100 spinning wheels, her creativity and dedication to her craft were both impressive and inspiring.

Lois is survived by her children; her grandchildren, and her nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, her parents, and her four siblings.

Lois Annabelle Ricks will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She had a strong handshake and a warm smile for everyone. Her memory will remain a cherished treasure, and her spirit will live on through the beautiful works of art she left behind and the countless lives she touched with her love and kindness.
