Marylee Jeanne Owings, passed peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, February 23, 2022,  surrounded by her loving family.  She was 90. Marylee was born in Anacortes, on May 18, 1931, the daughter of Elmer and Genevieve (Bowman) Lafond.

Marylee careered as a Dental Assistant to the late Dr. Bud Strom for thirty years.  She was active in Beta Sigma Phi for 69 years where she developed many lifelong friendships in the association.  Marylee's favorite pastimes were knitting and crocheting.  She made vast number of baby blankets for Island Health as well as winter hats for many cold heads.

Marylee is preceded in death by her parents, children: Jeff in 1991 and Barbara Mills in 2008.  She is survived by her daughter, Susan George (Dana); grandchildren: Miki (David Schach), Ryan (Kelly), Corey (Jill) & Jeremy (Anna Codd) George and Jared (Amy) Owings; greatgrandchildren: Branyan & Alyssa Schach, Gavon Long and Finn George.

At Marylee's request there will be no service held. Memorials in her honor may be made to Hospice of the NW or to a charity of your choice.  Her final resting place is Rosario Strait via Neptune Beach.
