Randy Lee Flansburg, 73, of Anacortes, passed peacefully at his residence on Monday May 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on November 30, 1948, the son of Marvin and Louise (Carpenter) Flansburg in Everett, WA.  Randy graduated from Granite Falls High School and soon after served his country in the Marine Corps doing two tours in Vietnam from 1967 - 1969. He was honorably discharged in June of 1973 as a Corporal, receiving Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Expert Badge.  Randy also received the Navy Achievement Award. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion.

In his civilian life, Randy careered in the Boat Building Industry for 35 years with Dakota Creek Industries, retiring just six years ago.  He married the love of his life Nancy Lee Ott in Anacortes on August 31, 2002, and together shared a blended family.  Randy loved hunting, fishing, and crabbing.  He would go hunting every year with his brother, dad, and a couple of close friends. They would hunt for elk, deer, and black bear. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Anacortes for over 25 years. Randy also had a passion for gardening and canning.  Both he and Nancy would often have friends over for get togethers that included crab boils, and games.  He was a very caring man who was always willing to help a friend or a family member.  He is dearly missed.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived his brother Russ; his loving wife Nancy and blended family of sons: David, Lance; daughters: Robin, Dawna, Angie, and Melissa; grandchildren: Jaden, Kaitlyn, Dawson, Erika, Eli and Cameron.
