Sherry Gay
Scott
Feb 27, 1951 — Jun 20, 2022
Anacortes
Early Monday morning, June 19th, Sharon Gay Scott left this earth to fly with the angels. Sherry was born February 27, 1951 in Duncan, OK to Louis and Kathryn Redden. Her Daddy was a Roughneck and worked throughout the West wherever there was an oil rig to work. Sherry and her family moved quite often and she got to see a lot of country but didn't settle in one place until she had her own family. She served in the Army training to be a nurse. While in the service she suffered MSA and became pregnant. Through that ordeal she was blessed with her son, Michael David.
In 1970 she came to Skagit Valley where she attended Skagit Valley Community College. It was there she met the love of her life, Robert Douglas Scott.
Rob, Sherry, and Michael shared many adventures and became a family. Sherry and Rob were married in 1974 on the 4th of July. They always refer the day as "Interdependent Day". Shortly after, Rob adopted Michael as his son. Sherry had three beautiful children, Michael, Heather, and Katy.
Sherry had different jobs over the years. Real estate, graphic art, doll making, website design, even working in a tiny photo kiosk in a grocery store parking lot. Her favorite occupation (she never considered it a job) was taking care and unconditionally loving her family, which included everyone. She loves the Lord Jesus and her faith kept her strong even though she was suffering from constant pain. She was very sharing. If she had two, she would give you one and a half. Sherry was an organ donor and her eyes will live on giving the gift of sight, so that someone else can see. Sherry, sharing to the end.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, 352 days; son Michael David; daughters: Heather Marie (Tobias Caputo) and Kathryn Louise (Jeffrey Werring); grandchildren: Cassia and Anna Scott, Robin, Violet, and Jeffrey Werring; sisters: Jeri Kay Walker and Teri Rae Redden. Please join us for a celebration of Sherry's wonderful life at Anacortes Christian Church, 1211 M. Avenue at 11:00 a.m. on July 6th.
