Born in The Dalles, Oregon, in 1946 to Leta (Baker) McCorkle and Wilber McCorkle, Helen passed away on February 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, after a life full of grace, service, and devotion. She was 78 years old.

Helen was one of seven children in the McCorkle family. She spent her early years in Tygh Valley, Oregon, before moving to Twisp, Washington, at the age of 10. She later made her home in the Methow Valley, where she lived until 1999. In 1966, Helen married Robert E Reed , and together they raised three children: Darin, Curtis  and Angela. Her children were her pride and joy, and they were fortunate to be nurtured by her love and wisdom.

Helen was a truly beautiful person inside and out. Her family was everything to her. She found great joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother, and her love for her grandchildren, Sean Campbell and Megan Campbell Jakobe was boundless. In 1999, she and Robert moved to Anacortes, Washington, to be closer to her first-born grandson, Sean and her kids. They were the center of her world.

A dedicated wife and mother, Helen worked as a licensed daycare operator, managed the family orchards, a Sunday school teacher of 22 years, and she was a talented seamstress. She also shared her love for flowers by growing and arranging them for the church and, most recently, for her granddaughter's wedding.

Helen's legacy is one of love, kindness, and generosity. She gained her wings, leaving behind a heartbroken family who will forever miss her warmth and love.

Helen was preceded in death sadly, by her beloved husband Robert E Reed of 58 years, who passed away on March 10, 2024. She is survived by her children Darin, Curtis (Heather) Reed, and Angela (Billy Campbell), as well as her cherished grandchildren Sean and Megan (Chad Jakobe).
