Robert E. Reed, 82, of Anacortes, WA, formerly of Pateros, WA, passed peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 3, 1941, in Montrose, CO, the son of Leonard and Virginia (Rice) Reed.

Robert (Bob) majored in Sociology at Eastern Washington University, acquiring a bachelor's degree.

He served in the US Army from 1963-1965 and then went on to serve in the National Guard for six years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1970. Bob worked as a Horticulturist for over 30 years in Chelan and Brewster areas. During his career from 1972 to 1999, he also worked as a Climatological Observer for the U.S. Weather Bureau/NOAA while also participating, from 1996 through 2000, as a member of the Okanogan County Horticultural, Pest, and Disease Control Board.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen (McCorkle) Reed ; children Darin Reed, Curtis (Heather) Reed, and Angela (Bill) Campbell; grandchildren Sean and Megan Campbell; and sisters Lana Ansert and Jackie Holt.
