Norma Frances Hagen, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 3, 2023, in Brandon, SD.  She was born on April 28, 1930, in Medina, NY, the daughter of Francis and Isabelle (Voelker) Hellert.

She graduated from Medina High School, NY in 1948; Rochester Institute of Technology, NY in 1951 and Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1954. Norma interned at the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.  She careered as a Dietician in the healthcare industry.

Norma met the love of her life, Roger William Hagen , and were married in 1955, the year they met.  Three children were born to them. Throughout their lives they moved from Missouri to San Diego, CA onward to Bellevue, WA, Cocoa Beach FL and finally back to Bellevue.

Norma was a Cub Scout leader, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. At the church she was a youth group leader and organized wedding receptions.  She volunteered at several church missions in the United States. She was also active in East Lake Washington Home Economists in Bellevue.  Norma and Roger moved to Anacortes in 1991. They attended United Methodist Church of Anacortes and were active members. Norma and Roger were able to travel to several countries in the South Pacific.

In 2000, after 5 years of research, Norma wrote a genealogy book about her family. Roger and Norma spent most winters in Arizona taking advantage of the warm weather.  In 1994, Norma began working in the Anacortes Visitor Center, enjoying meeting people from all over the US and the world.  Besides traveling she was an avid reader and especially loved her chocolates. Roger passed in September 2012.

Norma was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Alice and great grandson Luke. Norma is survived by her children: Karen Gross, Terry (Kevin Bly) and Kyle (Cheryl) Hagen; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings: Hank (Patricia) & Wayne (Judy) Hellert; and many numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service to be held at 1 p.m. on February 18, 2023, at Spirit of Truth Lutheran Church in Brandon, SD.  Services for Norma in Anacortes will be held on June 10 th , time to be determined at the United Methodist Church of Anacortes. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Roger at Grand View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to "The Anacortes Family Center" [ anacortesfamily.org ].
