Billie Jean Lamphiear of Anacortes, age 90, passed from this earth on April 7, 2024, in her home.  Born May 24, 1934, in her parents' home, she was raised in Anacortes, the town that was always her home no matter where life's travels took her.

Her love of the beaches, lakes, and countryside of Fidalgo Island stemmed from an upbringing that emphasized independence, self-reliance, and an appreciation of the outdoors.  There are few places on Fidalgo that didn't spark a memory from her to be recounted on any occasion.

An accomplished and talented artist, her creations were frequently inspired by the places and things she so loved in her surroundings.

Billie was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Lamphiear of Spokane, WA, and Patrick Lamphiear of Mount Vernon, WA.  The mother of 6 children,  Billie leaves behind a dearly loved family - son David Young (Becky) of Anacortes, and daughters Kathleen Lamphiear of Richland, TX, Renita (David Jacobsen) of Mount Vernon, Teresa Young of Seattle, WA, Susan Young of Bothell, WA and Bonnie (Michael Beldin) of Sedro Woolley, WA, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

While she will no longer be present for campfires or beach fires, the twinkle in her bright blue eyes and the flame that burned so brightly in her heart will carry forward in our memories
