Carole Anne Beck, 84, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Anacortes. Born on March 28, 1942, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, Carole lived a full and meaningful life devoted to caring for others, loving animals, and finding joy in family, travel, and the natural world.

Carole earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and dedicated her professional life to nursing as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career spanned more than 27 years and took her to several communities, including Las Vegas, Nevada; Anacortes and Seattle, Washington; and concluded with her final 17 years at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska. Prior to that, she also served at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Swedish Medical Center in Seattle and Island Hospital in Anacortes.

In retirement, Carole embraced her love of travel, spending years exploring Canada and the United States in her Roadtrek camper van. She treasured time spent visiting family and friends and delighted in seeing the country's beautiful landscapes. One of her favorite pastimes was attending Major League Baseball spring training in Phoenix, where she enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners. A devoted Seattle sports fan, Carole took great pride in following her teams and was especially thrilled when the Seattle Seahawks brought home the Super Bowl trophy, the last season.

Carole's later years were spent on Guemes Island near Anacortes, affectionately known by many as "Dog Island." There, she found peace in watching wildlife and admiring the flowers and plants from the comfort of her recliner, often with her beloved dog Molly resting faithfully at her feet. Her deep love for animals was a constant throughout her life, and she found great joy in their companionship.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Helen, as well as her brother Reid and her sister Karen. She is survived by her Doodle girl, Molly, her sons, Doug Beck (Tanyia) of Mountain Green, Utah, and Derek Beck of Auburn, Washington; her daughters, Laurie Beck (Tim) of Tacoma, Washington, and Kim Gapp (Doug) of Mesquite, Nevada; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on the way; and extended family including surviving siblings and in-laws: Greg (Deb), Doug (Lisa), Larraine (Arvid), Barbara (Reid's widow) and Ron (Karen's widower).

Carole is lovingly remembered as having been reunited with all of her beloved four‑legged companions across the rainbow bridge. While she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is surrounded once again by the animals and loved ones she cherished so dearly, now at peace and at home.

Suggested donations in the name of Carole may be made via check to the Guemes Island Firefighters Association,6310 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, WA 98221.
