Catherine Gwendolyn Schwartz, 95, a beloved wife, mother, and nana, passed away peacefully at her residence in Anacortes, WA, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 21, 1928, in Wolf, Oklahoma, Catherine was the daughter of D.R. and Ollie (Hunter) Richison.

Catherine was a woman of many talents and virtues. Her primary purpose in life was being a mother and a wife, and she fulfilled that calling by always putting her family first. Her unparalleled dedication to her loved ones was the uniting force that always brought the family together. Catherine was a wonderful chef, a talented seamstress, an enthusiastic piano player, and a creative hair stylist. She was her sons' biggest fan, always supporting them in their endeavors and blessing the life paths they chose. Catherine was also a wonderful mother-in-law who accepted her sons' wives as daughters-in-love. She was an even more special Nana to her two grandchildren. From spending countless hours reading, playing, and adoring them to admiring their every accomplishment, she was always there for them. Catherine's joyous spirit will always be with us. She taught us that love is always the answer. She will be missed forever.

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Steve; sons Frederick (Mary) LaCount, Doyle LaCount, and Ray (Masha) Schwartz; and grandchildren, Matia and Nikolai Schwartz.
