Janice Fay Kiesser, 88, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord surrounded by her family on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Fidalgo Rehabilitation Center in Anacortes.

Janice was born on May 19, 1929, in Anacortes, the daughter of Oliver & Alice (Hanley) Hauge. She graduated from Anacortes High School in 1947 and went to work as a secretary for Walton Mill.

Janice married her high school sweetheart, William (Bill) Kiesser, on March 13, 1948; she became a homemaker and then a mother to their three boys. In 1956 Janice and Bill moved to their home on March's Point where she lived for the rest of her life.  Family and friends cherish wonderful memories of time shared at their home: singing around the piano, game nights, potlucks and holidays. Janice had the gift of hospitality and her home was always filled with people stopping by to visit.

Janice loved being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made them special birthday cakes and never missed a ball game, band concert, violin recital, or special event in their lives.

Janice was an active member of the Anacortes Assembly of God Church and later attended the First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and enjoyed playing the piano for church services, quartets, duets and solos.

Janice and Bill enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army Food Bank. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends in their RV during Bill's retirement years, spending much of their time at Thousand Trails preserves where she played piano for chapel services. Janice and Bill also treasured the memories of three train trips they took around the United States.  Janice was a historian; working on family history and genealogy was her passion in her later years.  She lived for family reunions, time spent with relatives, and ministering to those in need.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Bill , parents Oliver and Alice Hauge of Anacortes, and sister-in-law Barbara Hauge of Lynden.

Janice is survived by her three sons: Randall Kiesser & friend Kathleen Lathom of Sedro-Woolley, Richard Kiesser & wife Judy of Anacortes, and Ronald Kiesser & wife Rachelle of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren: Adrian Kiesser, Lee Kiesser, Kally Reno & husband Brett, Corey Kiesser & wife Tracy, Traci Kiesser , Aaron Kiesser and Sarah Maas & husband Kevin; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas Reno, Alyssa Cardarelle & husband Vince, Jay Kiesser and girlfriend Pearle Peterson, Juster Kiesser, Matilda Maas, and Donovan Maas; and one great-great-grandchild, Isaiah Cardarelle.  She is also survived by her brother Oren Hauge & wife Wanda, brother & sister-in-law Jack & Janett Kiesser, sister-in-law Patricia Kiesser, sister-in-law Doris McDonald, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army Food Bank or Skagit Hospice.

There will be a visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2018 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes. Viewing will be held 12:00 p.m. prior to the  Funeral Service scheduled at the Anacortes Baptist Church on Saturday March 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Rick Malamma. A reception hosted by the Family will follow in the Great Room of the Anacortes Baptist Church. Burial will take place at 4:00 p.m. at he Fernhill Cemetery.  Janice will be buried next to her beloved husband Bill.
