Marilyn J. Sandvik, 86, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at Lighthouse Memory Care in Anacortes, WA. She was born in Anacortes to Karl and Beulah (Cole) Atterberry, where she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Stanley E. Sandvik . Together, they shared 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2019.

Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed family gatherings, holiday traditions, church events, camping, fishing, golfing, traveling, gardening, baking, music, and spending winter months in southern California. Marilyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and recently great-grandmother to Clara, whose sweet cooing carried her to her last breath.

Marilyn and Stanley built their dream home, lovingly known as "Grandmaland," a place where cherished memories were made and warm gatherings will always be remembered. Marilyn lived a life filled with joy and devotion to her Lord. She was compassionate, loving, humble, selfless, charitable, and grace-filled. Above all, she possessed a gift for making everyone feel valued and special.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Steven Sandvik (Sonja Rudie), Gary Sandvik (Carin), and Sheryl Reynolds (Matt); grandchildren, Chloé Hays (David), Erik Sandvik (Marissa), Brenna Sandvik, Kellen Sandvik, and Millicent Reynolds; great-granddaughter, Clara Hays; bonus granddaughter, Sara Reynolds (Tex); niece, Sheila Ryan (David); nephews, Bryon Atterberry, Douglas Foster (Aggie), and Rick Foster (Laurie); sister-in-law, Nancy Atterberry; and numerous Atterberry and Cole cousins, whom she loved very much.

The family would like to thank Lighthouse Memory Care, Homewatch Caregivers, and Jim and Jenny Toland for their loving care and support.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Meals on Wheels , or local school foundations for student supplies and clothing.

Rest in Glory, Mom, and enjoy dancing again with Dad in Heaven. We will live to honor you every day, grateful for the love and wisdom you poured into us.
