Marvin (Marv) Leonard Morgan was born in Olympia in 1935 and lived the majority of his life in the Seattle area. Marv lived an adventurous and interesting life. Professionally, he worked as a psychiatric nurse, guided missile technician, theater manager, travel agency manager, and international tour guide.

Marv proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, after which he migrated to Australia to attend the University of Sydney on the GI Bill. His time in Australia sparked in him what would become his true passion... travel. Marv founded the largest chain of travel industry training schools in the nation, SST Travel Schools.

During his 89 years, Marv visited 92 countries on every inhabited continent and took his family to such places as South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Australia, Iceland, and Greenland.

Marv also worked extensively with World Concern, delivering aid to people in need around the world. It was during this time that he fell in love with the culture, and people, of Kenya. Marv cherished his time working with the children of Kenya and helping establish a new school. Later in life, Marv started writing children's books under the pen name 'C. Friend Dweller'. A few of his books include "The Secret of Bamboo Mountain", "The Ghosts of Serpent River", and "The Treasure of Largo Deep".

Marv passed away while surrounded by family on April 8, 2024, in Arlington, WA. Marv is survived by two of his children, Matt and Erin, four grandchildren, Faith, Jared, Jordyn, and Brandon, and three great-grandchildren, Anya, Hudson, and Rowan. He will be greatly missed.
