Mary, age 80, passed away on January 10th in her sleep.  She grew up in Portland, OR, attending St. Mary's Academy in Portland, OR, where she met her husband, Michael.  They were married in 1962. Because Michael was in the Navy, they split their time between Oak Harbor and Pensacola, FL, and finally settled in Anacortes.

She attended nursing school in 1972 and was a nurse at Skagit Valley Hospital for 20 years.

Mary and her family loved to go camping, at both the ocean and the mountains.  She was active in the humane society, Paws and the Red Hat Society.

Mary is survived by her sister, Molly Milan, her two daughters, Michele Sutton and Rene Knutsen, four granddaughters, seven great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, her husband, Michael, her son, Joseph Sutton, and her daughter-in-law, Marcia.
