Peter Allen Zuanich, was born September 3, 1946, in Bellingham, Washington. He passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023, in Oak Harbor, Washington, with his wife,  Kimberly, by his side.

Peter graduated from Bellingham High School and Central Washington University. Though he graduated with a degree in business, he ultimately followed in his father's wake, working for many years as the owner and captain of commercial fishing vessels along the coasts of Alaska and California.

Peter never sat still for long, and more often than not, he was drawn to water. In addition to running a successful marine surveying company that kept him crawling through engine rooms through the last year of his life, he worked for the Port of Bellingham, sold insurance to fishing vessels, and was a founding board member of the Seine Vessels' Reserve. He was especially fond of his decade as a Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteer, where he taught water safety and demonstrated proper life jacket use with the help of his daughters' stuffed animals.

Although he never fully retired, Peter still found ample time to referee basketball games and umpire baseball games, pull out his tools to make home improvements, and travel the world with Kim. It was boating in the San Juan Islands and spending long weekends with his grandchildren though, that he cherished most of all.

Peter is survived by his wife, Kimberly Zuanich (Watkins); his daughters, Trisha (Matthew Halverson), Sara (Daniel Mead), Maija (Nikolaus Bahr); grandchildren, Travis & Madisen Mead, Bennett & Gregory Halverson; brother Robert (Michelle) Zuanich; niece Erica (Nate Fitzgerald); nephew Brian (Jenny) Zuanich; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Ann Zuanich.

Arrangements were with Evans Funeral Chapel & Onsite Crematory Inc.
