Richard Dean Brown, Sr., 92, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2025. Born on June 27, 1933, in Anacortes to Delbert and Hazel (Olson) Brown, Richard spent his early years in his hometown before proudly serving in the United States Air Force.

His service took him to California, where he met the love of his life, Juanita Betty House, in Marysville. They married while he was stationed there, beginning a lifelong partnership built on devotion and family.  Juanita was a native of Macon, Georgia.  She was raised in Marysville, CA, where she careered as a Telephone Operator from the 1960s - 1980s.

Following his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant, Richard and Juanita returned to Anacortes, where they raised their children and built a life rooted in community. Richard worked as a commercial fisherman, an ocean cable layer, and alongside Juanita, co-owned and operated the Log Cabin Tavern for more than a decade.

Richard's greatest joy was found outdoors. He took pride in caring for his yard, mowing lawns, setting up hummingbird feeders, and delighting in feeding the squirrels. His love of nature was evident in the simple, generous ways he shared it with those around him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Juanita, his siblings, his daughter Debbie and a grandson. He is survived by his children: Richard Jr. (Nancy), Saundra (Dave), Michael, and Lisa (David), numerous grandchildren, great grands and others who will continue to cherish his memory.
