Robert Wayne Hendren, 76, of Burlington, WA, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 17, 2025.  He was born on December 28, 1948, in Grangeville, ID, the son of Robert and Alice (Keough) Hendren.  Bob grew up and around In Kooskia, ID, with his three siblings, Jim, Jeanne and Bonnie, and lots of relatives. Early in life, he developed a love for fishing, camping, cars, and picking wild huckleberries.  For work Bob logged, baled hay, worked in a gas station and looked after animals on the ranch.  He loved anything and everything outdoors. Bob graduated from Clearwater Valley High School in 1967; he met his bride-to-be there, Mary Owens, he was a senior, she was a freshman.

Bob was drafted into the Army, served in Vietnam, as a heavy vehicle driver and earning an Army Commendation Medal.  He returned to the states from his tour in 1970 and wed Mary on August 15, 1970.  They moved to Alabama, so that Bob could finish his enlistment. They lived in both Anacortes and Burlington, until they found their forever home in Alger, on an acre of land and created their own paradise.  Bob and Mary were blessed with two children, Jeremy and Katina, who shared their dad's love of the outdoors.  He loved both his Idaho and Washington families.

Bob's joy was found in his family time, camping, fishing, cars, fixing anything he could get his hands on, but mostly, just simply being outside.  He was a kind, hard working family man, and he liked playing with his cats. Bob was employed as a Timber Manager at Dunlap towing, and later at La Conner School District. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alice and his brother Jim.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Jeremy Hendren; daughter and son-in-law Katina and Ian Fernando; grandsons, Alex and Jordan Garcia; sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanne Laws and Bonnie and Sam Gills. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  The family would like to express their thanks to all those who have shared love and been so helpful to Bob through the years and during his last days.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes, with a graveside service with military honors following at Grand View Cemetery.  The family invites all to a Celebration of Life Bar-b-que at Bob's home in Burlington.
