Richard "Rick" Kiesser, 73, left this earth on October 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. He had been living with Corticobasal Degeneration, a rare neurological disease, for several years.

Rick was born on July 6, 1951, in Anacortes, to William and Janice Kiesser. He lived in Anacortes most of his life, growing up on March Point where he loved spending time at the beach and on the water with his brothers and his friends. He grew up with a strong faith, and attended Anacortes First Assembly of God church (now Family Life Assembly) his entire life, and lived a life that reflected his faith.

Rick married Judy Adkerson in 1970, and they spent their lives together, celebrating their 54th anniversary in August. They welcomed two children, a son, Corey, and daughter Traci.

Rick worked for Washington State Ferries for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. He began his career as a traffic attendant while still in high school and retired as North Regional Terminal Manager, meeting and working with many wonderful people over the years. He always wanted to treat everyone fairly, with integrity and the way he wanted to be treated. He was a problem-solver and enjoyed facing a challenge and then finding a solution. After his retirement he worked as a contractor on special projects for WSF, then obtained his real estate license, and, always wanting to stay busy, worked at Lowes for several years, enjoying that the physical job kept him in shape.

Rick was a loving husband, wonderful father and very proud grandfather. Family was important to him and he loved having everyone together. He was kindhearted and hard working, and always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a great laugh and a warm hug that will be missed by all who knew him.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Janice , brother Randy , by his daughter, Traci , and by grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, son Corey (Tracy), brother Ron (Rachelle), grandson Jay (LeAnne), grandson Juster, and great-grandchildren Weston and Blakely, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who meant so much to him.
